National Mock Trial
and other helpful links
The National Mock Trial Championship was initiated in 1984 in Des Moines, Iowa, with teams from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin participating. Colorado has particapted since 1985. After the success of the tournament in Iowa, more states became interested in participating and the tournament became billed as an "All-State" Tournament. The 2010 competition was in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, included a total of 44 teams including Guam, South Korea, the Commonwealth of Northern Marianna Islands, and State Champion teams from across the country. Future sites include Phoenix, Arizona (May 5-8, 2011) and Albuquerque, New Mexico (May 3-6, 2012).
The CBA Mock Trial Program is not a Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSSA) activity. However, we use their calendar to help determine the date of the State Mock Trial tournament. Please use this link to check dates for speech and sports activities in Colorado.
